Hello Joel
As per your request to Rick Groves, please find attached the following
information:
1) Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for Vision Silviculture Herbicide
2) "Effects Of Vision Herbicide On Mortality, Avoidance Response, And Growth
Of
Amphibian Larvae In Two Forest Wetlands" a study conducted in situ at
two
different forested wetlands in Northern Ontario
Please be advised of the following:
The MSDS describes the Vision product in a pre-operational concentrated
form. The approval of forestry herbicides is the responsibility of the federal
government. The Pest Control Products Act (PCP), administered by Agriculture Canada,
is the
principal federal law governing the use of pesticides, Federal Acts such as the Environmental Contaminants Act, the Fisheries
Act, and
the Migratory Birds Convention Act have implications for the regulation
and use of
pesticides. In addition provincial laws, including forest management planning must be
satisfied
when using a pesticide along with company work procedures
a forestry herbicide is used predominately in "conifer release" and "site
preparation"
applications to ensure a healthy growing forest environment
The primary concern with a herbicide is safety, protection of by-standers,
forestry
workers, wildlife and other diverse elements which make up the forest
ecosystem.
If additional information is needed feel free to contact me.
